Owen Krzyzaniak Geary was born and raised in New Hampshire, surrounded by a community of craftspeople and amateur artists practicing embroidery, quilting, wood carving, watercolor, and other folk arts. That environment—deeply rooted in ecological methodologies—shaped the foundation for his creative practice. After moving to New York City, Geary studied Fine Art at Parsons School of Design and minored in Environmental Studies.

Since relocating to Queens, NY in 2017, Geary has become immersed in a network of local artists, educators, and organizers. He co-founded a neighborhood art supply store with Vannessa America, where they also host classes and workshops. He has taught at multiple local venues—community spaces, institutions, school, and others—collaborating with grassroots organizations like the tenants unions and art historical societies. In 2022, he illustrated Terra, a book by Caroline Powell exploring Northeastern forest ecosystems, published by Topos Press. Geary’s solo exhibitions, Night Vision in New Hampshire and Zebroids: Hybrid Husbandry in Brooklyn, explored themes of ecology, mythology, and queer futurism. In the past year, his work has been featured at The National Arts Club in Manhattan, The Brooklyn Waterfront Arts Coalition (BWAC), Two Villages Art Society, The Miami Gaythering, NAD Gallery, and Turley Gallery in Hudson.
